"Productivity Secrets"
- By Bob Scheinfeld
Part
of living the ultimate lifestyle means that
when you work, on business or personal projects,
you're as productive and efficient as possible
so you can finish as quickly as possible and
have as much time as possible left over for
pleasure and enjoyment.
For
years, many of my clients, associates, and bosses
(when I had 9-5 jobs) were amazed at how much
I was able to get done when I worked, and how
efficient I was. I never thought I was doing
anything unusual and just shrugged off their
comments.
Then
one day, a friend of mine asked me what my secret
to being so productive was, I told him, and
again shrugged it off as being no big deal,
but then he said "It's a very big deal.
Many other people would like to know what your
system is."
So,
in this article, I'm going to share what I do
in the hope that you'll find it valuable.
There
are only 3 steps to the process:
Let's
discuss the 3 steps individually.
Use
The 11th Element To Ask For Help
This
is where I always start.
No
matter what result you want to produce, there's
always a fastest and best way to get it done.
We don't always know what that fastest and best
way is, and we don't usually tap into it by
accident, so we usually take longer than is
necessary to get things done.
But
whether we see it or not, there always is a
fastest and best way to get the job done. Well,
what if you could always find that fastest and
best way - on demand, whenever you needed it?
What would that do to your productivity and
efficiency?
Help
you take monster leaps forward, wouldn't it?
That's
what The 11th Element helps you to do. Take
monster leaps forward with your efficiency and
productivity.
Try
it.
The
Two Magic Piles
This
is the strategy my friend thought you'd find
so especially valuable.
I
always have a big "to do" pile on
my desk that needs to be "processed."
I go through the pile and separate it into two
separate piles:
Then
I start working on pile #2 right away and process
all of it before going on to pile #1 (unless
there's something urgent, of course).
The
minute I complete one to Pile #2 item, I hand
it off to the other person, and then move on
to the next pile #2 item.
Then,
when all the Pile #2 items have been processed,
I move on to Pile #1 and then apply the third
strategy below to move through those items.
Do
you see the power of this? When I start working
on pile #1, the other people are working on
their part of pile #2 simultaneously, so it's
like I'm actually getting twice the amount of
work done, and the project gets completed faster.
If
I didn't separate the work items like this,
and I worked through the piles randomly, the
other people would be waiting for their parts,
and however many hours or days they waited,
that's lost productivity time for me, and it'll
end up taking me longer to complete projects.
Does
that make sense?
Over
the years, I've gotten really good at the pile
separation game and juggling projects this way
and it absolutely turbo-charges my productivity.
Try
it and see for yourself!
Get
Into "The Zone"
Part
of this third strategy I can explain to you,
and part of it is a magic I don't understand
and therefore can't explain.
When
I need to maximize my productivity and efficiency,
I first cut out all distractions. I turn off
the phone ringer, close the door to my office,
and in general put out a 'Do Not Disturb"
message to people who have access to me and
to "The Universe."
Then
I start going through the pile of stuff to do
on my desk. After a few minutes, I just feel
myself going into "The Zone" (some
sort of altered state) and that's where the
magic comes in.
When
I go into that Zone, I'm able to see very clearly,
keep a ton of information open and available
in my mind at the same time, and I'm able to
zoom through tasks and items very quickly --
if I don't get interrupted, because if I get
interrupted, I fall right out of that Zone.
If
you don't have the experience or skill of getting
into a Zone like that, consider using The 11th
Element system to ask for help to start tapping
into it in your own unique way. We can all do
it.
Well,
that's it for this month's article. There's
some really exciting announcements and powerful
resources listed below that I hope you'll pay
special attention to.
Belated
Happy New Year to you ...
