In
this issue, I'm going to talk about something
you probably don't think about much -- your
voice.
There's
an old saying that goes, "The eyes are
the windows to the soul. " But I recently
discovered, and you'll soon discover, that the
voice is too, maybe even more so.
As
you know, I do a lot of speaking - live and
by CD and cassette through my products. For
years, I felt unhappy with my voice. I wanted
it to be more "resonant," -- you know,
like those guys who do voice overs on radio,
TV commercials, animated films, and movies.
I
also felt that I wasn't speaking with my "true
voice" - that all my years of struggle
with emotional issues, insecurity, and pain
had somehow distorted it. I felt I wasn't being
as effective in the world as I could be because
of that distortion.
So,
now that my life has evolved into a great place,
I decided to finally do something about my voice.
I crafted a request for help using my Invisible
Path/11th Element System and was drawn to a
man named Arthur Joseph, one of the leading
voice coaches in the world. His client list
is like a bunch of pages out of "Who's
Who In America" (click on the link below
to see the names).
I
met with him for 2 days - privately and face-to-face.
I
was blown away! Just listening to my voice for
a few minutes, he instantly got a sense of who
I really was, what types of "events"
had distorted my voice, and how my voice really
should sound. It was like he was looking at
me with x-ray glasses. It was uncanny.
I
am fully aware of the pain I've been through,
the wounds caused by it, and the symptoms those
wounds used to cause in my dally life. One of
the real biggies for me was a desire to be invisible,
so no one would really see or notice me because
then I didn't have to deal with any more rejection
or pain. I've come a long way in healing those
old wounds, and was shocked to see how much
"residue" was still left in my voice.
After
looking at me with his x-ray glasses and bringing
this to the surface, Arthur worked with me (using
his proven process called "Vocal Awareness")
to start the process of healing and change.
While he was working with me, we taped it, and
I could see instant change by using his System.
I
now have a set of exercises I perform every
morning (just 8 minutes) and am on the path
to fully recover and be able to habitually speak
with my true voice. I can't tell you how great
it feels, and the added impact I expect to have
whenever I speak -- live or on tape.
Here
are a few comments from Arthur I thought might
interest you:
"I'm
sure you've heard the expression: 'You never
get a second chance to make a good first impression.'
This statement is as true today as it was decades
ago - perhaps even more so - as our contemporary
lifestyle has become extremely fast-paced. In
fact, an opinion is created in three seconds
(Doesn't allow much time for an 'icebreaker'
does it?) In an effort to be successful and
attractive, people spend their time and money
on going to the gym; getting the right haircuts;
and wearing stylish clothes, makeup, and fashion
accessories. But such improvements are external
- and they are not enough. If you're not developing
your voice - both inner and outer - you're missing
the true secret of success."
And
this:
"Have
you ever noticed that there are very few successful
people with bad voices? Think about it.
Except
for actress Fran Drescher, the lead in the hit
TV show 'The Nanny' who turned her dreadful,
nasal voice into an asset, most truly successful
people have found a way to use their voices
to their advantage. Career-wise, improving your
voice and accountability greatly enhances your
ability to climb the corporate ladder, make
big sales, and/or persuade investors to take
a risk on your latest project.
Today,
we also accomplish a huge percentage of our
work on the phone rather than in face-to-face
meetings.
So,
vocal technology, such as cellular phones, has
clearly impacted the business world."
And
this:
"In
addition, developing your voice can vastly improve
your relationships with family and friends.
It can even help you attract the perfect mate.
Voice is power.
Voice
is identity - how we represent ourselves to
the world. As it emerges from the core of our
beings, it broadcasts everything about us to
the world. Thus, the voice is a metaphor, or
symbol, of who we are. And since we live in
a culture where perception is everything, having
a confident, commanding voice and persona can
make a difference between being heard and being
ignored."
What
has this stimulated within you? Is it possible
you're not speaking with your true voice either
- and that you're sacrificing power and results
in your world as a result?
It
can get a bit pricey to work one-on-one with
Artrhur. But my friends Scott Martineau and
Steve Amos at ConsicousOne just worked with
Arthur to create an online multi-media course
you can take to get the same benefits I got
from my private sessions. To learn more about
Arthur Joseph, Vocal Awareness, and this exciting
course I believe is an absolute must for *everyone*
to take, visit here:

Please
do it now, while it's fresh on your mind and
you're tuned in to the critical importance of
voice as a "Success Force."
Until
next issue ...
